Employment is with the Research Foundation of SUNY, a private, nonprofit, educational corporation that administers sponsored activity for the University at Albany

DESCRIPTION of JOB DUTIES: 

Preparing budgets and coordinating proposal submissions.  Financial administration of awarded grants including processing expenditure transactions, reviewing payroll and purchasing transactions, monitoring budgets; Utilizing ORACLE Financial software to prepare financial reports, developing cost recovery models to ensure project costs are recovered; working closely with senior research staff to provide financial management guidance for their sponsored funds programs.  Providing direction for closing out awards. Creating and maintaining a variety of data bases to support CNSE’s various reporting needs including; status of proposals and awards, sponsor financial reports, job creation and retention, cumulative and annual funding histories, and personnel related statistics.

 

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The position requires: a bachelors degree in business administration or a related field from a College or University accredited by the USDOE or internationally recognized accrediting organization, a minimum of two years of relevant experience, a working knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet and database applications (Word, Excel, Access). The successful candidate will have strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, as well as the unsure the efficient and effective use of resources and technology.  The successful candidate must have a demonstrated ability working with diverse groups of people.

 

PRERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in higher education and grants management is preferred.
