Employment
is with the Research Foundation of SUNY, a private, nonprofit, educational corporation
that administers sponsored program activity for the University at Description
of Duties: Provide computer support for small research office:
maintain project PC programs; identify and resolve user problems; maintain,
design; implement, and administer Web site; maintain and prepare Web site
usage statistics and reports; maintain Web site content database. Assist editors in the preparation of Web
site content: inputting and proofreading, assisting in layout, preparing
Acrobat and spreadsheet files, gathering and printing source content. Perform other general office tasks in
support of the project. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's
degree in computer-related field or bachelor's in other field from a college
or university accredited by a US Dept. of Education (DOE) or
internationally-recognized accrediting organization is required. Requires proficiency with various computer
and PC applications, Web site design, and Web site design implementation.
Applicants must address in their application their abilities to work with a
culturally diverse population. Preferred Qualifications: Three years progressive experience in an office, and
providing computer support and Website management preferred. Applicants must
possess sufficient written and verbal communication skills to work
effectively with system users that have varying degrees of technical
knowledge in order to resolve problems and produce desired results. They
should be competent with various software applications and should be able to
work with some independence on a directed project. Experience working in an
UNIX environment along with knowledge of PERL and Emacs programs helpful.
Willingness to learn new programs may be required. Special Notes:
This job is part-time (60% - 80%) with the
possibility of becoming full-time.
Position is contingent on continued funding. Current funding through
June 30, 2010. |
