of Duties: The position requires the incumbent to assist senior staff, project and support staff and supervise BSW and MSW field students at Center for Excellence in Aging Services (CEAS) to manage the daily operations of grant funded health promotion initiatives as assigned. Incumbent’s focus is on the development, implementation, treatment fidelity monitoring and evaluation of these grant funded initiatives and development of a volunteer workforce to assist in program delivery and other implementation functions. ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS 1.Project Support/Administration and Implementation Tasks include: Management of delivery and training of evidence based health promotion programs throughout four counties of Capital Region and assist on other statewide training and fidelity efforts; supervision as a Master Trainer of the delivery of programs by local leaders and BSW and MSW field students; meeting recruitment and program completion targets; general logistical support for internal and community based meetings including representing CEAS at meetings where necessary and attending meetings to provide additional support to CEAS staff and community partners; assisting in the management of correspondence; support for training efforts and initiatives including writing and curriculum development and training delivery; writing for web related postings and technical assistance websites, newsletter and media outlets and other project publicity materials; other duties as assigned. 2. Project Development Tasks include: assist in grant writing and project development activities including meetings with grant makers, community partners and potential project partners; assist with other development activities including fundraising activities and events. 3. Project Evaluation Tasks include: Data collections, data base management and reporting, data collection instrument design and identification; supervising student data collections and data entry; project reporting including drafting of written project reports. 4. Support for CEAS Service Programs and/or Projects: this includes working directly with RSVP, OASIS, WHNHAP and any newly established CEAS service programs interested n collaborating on health promotion programs including the support of CEAS initiatives related to advancing community-university partnerships and linkages. FUNCTIONS Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: o Master’s degree in social work from a USDOE accredited institution of higher learning AND 2 years of post-graduate work experience in the field of social work. o
Current certification as a master trainer or
higher of the o
Current certification as a Master Trainer or
higher in the Active Choices Program and Active Generations - certification
at the master training level in another evidence based health promotion
program targeted at older persons may be substituted for one of these
specified programs. o Experience working with culturally diverse populations. o Experience recruiting and managing volunteers. o
Prior experience
with program/project coordination. o
Knowledge
of issues concerning older adults and a strong commitment to excellence in
services for older adults. o
Excellent
skills in Microsoft Office Suite 2007.
o
Experience
with Publisher/Dreamweaver. o
Experience
working with databases. o A willingness to handle own e-mailings, document preparation and other communication tasks and assist senior staff with same. o
Excellent
interpersonal skills and an excellent team player. o
Self
directed, self starter. o
Demonstrated
excellent writer and communicator. o
Knowledge
of operations of human service organizations in public and not for profit
environments. o Experience with tracking and managing expenditures. o An ability to travel, with occasional overnight travel required and must hold a valid driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications: o Three or more years prior work experience in human service or related field. o Program/project development experience. o Grant writing/development experience. o Experience with SPSS. |
