Applications are invited for consideration for appointment to the following position with the Research Foundation at the University at Albany:

FUNCTION & SCOPE:

The Research Foundation of SUNY, a private, not-for-profit organization managing sponsored program activity for the University at Albany, seeks applicants for the position of Cleanroom Support Technician.

DESCRIPTION of JOB DUTIES: Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Mop/vacuum floors every day or as directed.

· Wipe down walls, doors, glass enclosures as directed

· Stock/order Cleanroom supplies

· Perform particle counts as directed

· Provide cleaned Cleanroom garments each week

· Throw out trash including chemical wastes; assist recycling program as directed.

· Each year perform entire Cleanroom scrub down that includes ceilings, walls, etc.

· Assist Contractors during equipment installation to ensure/monitor that Cleanroom practices are followed.

· Assist where needed to wipe down materials or tools that enter Cleanroom

· Perform minor mechanical tasks such as replacing light bulbs, installing first aid kits

· Mop any liquid spills or leaks that occur

· Follow Janitorial SOP when performing tasks

· Monitor that all entering Cleanroom are properly gowned and certified.

· Certify individuals follow Cleanroom protocols

· Assist security of facility by reporting suspicious activity.

· Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The position requires: basic mechanical ability (i.e. can use screwdriver, wrench), must be fluent in English and can write basic communication messages, must be able to use cell phone, and have experience in custodial or janitorial field. Applicants must have experience working with culturally diverse groups.
