Employment is with the Research Foundation of SUNY, a private, nonprofit, educational corporation that administers sponsored program activity for the University at Albany.

Description of Duties:

The facility bulk gas technician duties will include, but not be limited to: management of the bulk gas supply systems to assure adequate supply and quality of bulk gases including, but not limited, to Nitrogen, Oxygen, Hydrogen, Helium and Argon.  Must be able to develop/manage a gas usage tracking system in order to accurately predict future gas consumption as part of the facility utility matrix.  Candidate will track bulk gas usage against projections to assist in evaluating maximum system capacities and cost allocations.  Must monitor and resolve all bulk gas supply quantity and quality issues in a timely manner.  This person will act as site contact for bulk gas systems and monitor ongoing gas yard upgrades for existing bulk gas systems including a nitrogen generator.

The candidate must be able to supervise the connection of end users to bulk gas VMBs, including reviewing gas line installations and leak check reports.  Candidate must provide cleanroom tool installation support; provide cross training for off-shift facilities technicians supporting bulk gas system during 24/7 operations schedule. Additional duties include the operation and reporting of the LabGarde vibration monitoring system. The candidate must monitor vibration data collected and report out-of-specification conditions to CNSE management.

Minimum Qualifications:

The position requires a minimum of three (3) years experience in cryogenic gas storage and dispensing systems including nitrogen generator operation. A good mechanical aptitude and general understanding of facility needs for semiconductor tools.  Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule.  Candidates must be able to address in their applications their ability to work with culturally diverse populations.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Five (5) years experience in cryogenic gas storage and dispensing systems for a semiconductor fabrication facility.
