Employment is with the Research Foundation of SUNY, a private, nonprofit, educational corporation that administers sponsored program activity for the University at Albany.

 

Description of Duties:

The College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) at the University at Albany seeks applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant I. This position will serve on an administrative team supporting the programmatic and administrative activities of the College.  Duties will include but are not limited to: calendar management, teleconferencing, formatting and manipulating text and data from various sources to produce and/or revise complex data, assist other areas as needed which includes greeting and escorting guests, checking in visitors, monitoring and responding to multiline phones, distributing paychecks, mail, etc., maintain and update departmental or office databases, responding to routine inquiries and other administrative tasks.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

A.A.S. Degree from a College or University accredited by the USDOE or internationally recognized accrediting organization or equivalent experience, a minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in an administrative support role, working knowledge of word-processing and presentation preparation (Word and PowerPoint), familiarity with use of the Internet, and a demonstrated ability to work in a high energy, team oriented environment.  Must be able to function in a high volume environment with tact and diplomacy. The candidate should also possess exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work with a culturally diverse group of people.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience coordinating multiple priorities, including outside vendors, clients, and visitors, from and throughout the US and internationally.  Demonstrated technical competence in areas including teleconferencing and complex computer applications.  Experience coordinating travel, including both national and international travel, is a plus.
