Clerical & Secretarial Employee Advancement Program (CSEAP)

CSEAP offers job related training and development opportunities to employees in the Administrative Services Unit of CSEA, and Trainees or Probationary employees in transition titles supported by CSEAP. M/C clerical or secretarial employees may attend if space permits.

Courses are offered in the following areas: Career Planning, Oral and Written Communication, Math/Accounting, Secretarial Practices, NYS Government, Stress Management, and computer software.

Courses vary from one to three days in length. They are held during normal business hours, and you may be granted release time to attend, subject to your supervisor's approval. There is no cost.

A catalog of course offerings is published twice a year: January-June and July-December. Catalogs and other resources are available from CSEAP's website at: www.cs.state.ny.us/cseap/. Normally the Spring catalog is available in the Human Resource Office UAB Room 300 in November or December and the Fall catalog in July. Announcements are sent to all CSEA bulletin boards when catalogs are available.

Note: Many CSEAP programs have prerequisites and computer classes require non-classroom access to a P.C.
