How to Start the Search Process
To initiate a professional search, the department must complete the
Position Authorization Request (HRM-1), the Affirmative Action Plan,
and the Announcement of Professional Vacancy (UP-5). These forms
can be downloaded from the Forms page. Once this
package is completed, it should follow the appropriate administrative
channels specified in the revised
Position Search Procedures published by
Human Resources in March 2003. After the Affirmative
Action Plan is approved and the HRM-1 packet has reached Human
Resources, the position is posted in UAB
300 and on the Human Resources
Vacancy web page and it is distributed to
other SUNY campuses.

communicating with applicants and legal/illegal question for applicants,

Office of Diversity and Affirmative Action Web Site. For information on search waivers, please refer to the
policy memorandum published
by the University Commission on Affirmative Action and the Office of Diversity and
Affirmative Action on August 31, 2001.
