Employment is with the Research Foundation of SUNY, a private, not-for-profit, educational corporation that administers sponsored program activity for the University at Albany. Description of Duties: Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree. Political acumen and cultural sensitivity. Experience in Afghanistan, nearby countries, transitional democracies, post conflict countries, and/or other hardship/ danger posts. Demonstrated record of interacting and developing strong working relationships with high level local counterparts. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the implementation of Legislative Strengthening programs, especially in Muslim nations. Familiarity with Islamic law and culture. Experience with democracy and governance programs in developing countries. Proficiency in English. Excellent communication skills (e-mail, telephone, reports, public speaking). Excellent team building skills. Knowledge of USAID and other multi- and bilateral donor rules and regulations. Experience working in a legislative body. Proficiency in Afghan languages. |
