The
Department of Health Policy, Management, and Behavior at the University at Albany, State University of New York, School of Public Health is recruiting for a fully-funded,
tenure-track faculty position in the area of Health Management. Doctoral degree should be in management,
business administration, health services administration/management, or public
administration. Preferred teaching and
research interests are in the design, use, implementation, or evaluation of
data and information technology in health management as they relate to
quality of care, health care access, evidenced-based management, patient
satisfaction, health care productivity and budgeting, or cost
effectiveness. Other specific teaching
and research interests to be considered include health care marketing, human
resources management, and organizational behavior. More general management-focused interests
may potentially be entertained. Prior
administrative or clinical work experience in health care organizations such
as hospitals, HMOs, public health agencies, or physician practices is a plus.
Successful candidates will be expected to conduct research in the health
management area, contribute to the expansion of health management coursework
and degrees in the school, teach and mentor MS, MPH, and DrPH students, and
perform university and community service, and should have experience working
with culturally diverse students and staff.
Opportunities exist for public and private sector consulting/research,
as the School of Public Health has established relationships with
the New York State Department of Health, local insurers and hospitals, and
nonprofit health care advocacy organizations.
