Social Work and Service Learning:
The School of Social Welfare at the University at Albany seeks to fill a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position. We seek an individual with interests in community outreach, service learning and civic engagement.

The new faculty member will provide leadership to the Community and Public Service Program (CPSP) which, for 35 years, has offered UAlbany undergraduates opportunities to participate in pre-career public service. Each year, it enrolls over 600 undergraduate students who serve in over 500 approved schools, public agencies, and nonprofit organizations. The School of Social Welfare is a nationally ranked program located in a state capital that offers outstanding education for the social work profession as well as leadership in research and scholarship in the field.  Applicants will teach community and public service courses, including an undergraduate Honors College course, as well as in the School of Social Work’s programs. The new faculty member will also be expected to pursue service learning related research and evaluation grants.

Applicants must possess a doctoral degree in social work or a related field from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization. Applicants must show commitment to excellence in scholarship and teaching.  Applicants must address in the application their abilities to work within a culturally diverse environment and to prepare students to work effectively in a world of increasing diversity.
