The Department of Public Administration & Policy, Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, University at Albany, SUNY seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the area of Public Governance with research and teaching interests in one or more of the following areas: politics and the policy process, alternative models of governance especially state and local relations, non-profit administration, and networked models of government.

 

The successful candidate will have the potential to make outstanding contributions in one or more of the following areas of specializations such as:  public security and hazard mitigation, education, welfare, the environment, health, information, or regulation (especially of financial markets).  The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Public Affairs or Policy, Political Science, or a related field and will have strong teaching and research skills.  Degree must be from a college or university accredited by a US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.  Experience in the practice of administration is preferred but not required.

 

Rockefeller College is home to a diverse group of over 40 full-time scholars interested in teaching and research issues of importance in the public and nonprofit sectors and who work through six affiliated research centers.  The Department of Public Administration and Policy offers an undergraduate major, two nationally ranked masters (Master of Public Administration and Master of Arts in Public Affairs and Policy) and a Ph.D. in Public Administration and Policy.
