|
Under the general
direction of the Associate Vice President for Operations, the University
Energy Manager will direct and manage the University’s activities related to
utilities tracking, reporting procurement, and conservation, with the goal of
increasing campus energy efficiency, reducing operating costs, and maximizing
third party grants and incentives. The
Manager will develop and recommend energy policies, where appropriate, and
actively coordinate and promote conservation initiatives among the student
body and various campus offices and departments. A high level of such interaction is
required. The position also requires
current knowledge of energy best practices applicable to institutions of
higher education and active involvement with campus planning, operations, and
maintenance staff to identify and quantify the financial benefits of
efficiency upgrades. The Manager will
also advise the campus, as necessary, in strategic facility planning. The Manager will be required to regularly
collect and report utility consumption, costs, and spending information, for
budgetary purposes, working closely with the appropriate campus offices. Where appropriate, the Manager will support
campus environmental sustainability staff and policies. |

Qualifications: |
||||
|
Required:
Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by the U.S.
Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting
organization. Minimum of two (2) years
of administrative experience in the area of energy management, with knowledge
and experience in utility metering, and demonstrated active involvement in
conservation programming. The candidate must be computer literate and
demonstrate excellence in written, verbal, and interpersonal communication
skills. The candidate must demonstrate
excellent collaborative/team building skills and be able to manage multiple
tasks independently. The candidate
must address in their application their ability to work with a culturally
diverse population. Preferred: A minimum of two (2) years experience in a
large college or university setting; experience with energy management
