Brief description of duties:
The director leads the School of Public Health Continuing education whose mission is providing exemplary education and training for the public health workforce. The School’s distance learning and training programs reach over 50,000 practitioners a year. Essential Functions/Responsibilities include: Leadership of continuing education team; Grant writing and on-going development of growing and changing self-funded program; Strategic planning and evaluation; Grant management; Service on School of Public Health Advisory Council and its Continuing Ed Advisory Committee.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization in a related field. Eligibility for SPH faculty position. Five years of professional experience in the administration of public health or continuing education projects. Experience in training and professional development, distance learning, needs assessment, group facilitation and curriculum development. Successful track record in grant management and entrepreneurial programs. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Preferred qualifications: Doctoral degree in adult education, public health, health education, public administration, organizational development, or related field. Knowledge of public health issues. Experience working in higher education. Experience working with governmental public health. In-depth experience with training and development.
