Brief description of duties:

The University at Albany, School of Public Health is recruiting for a Senior Staff Assistant/MDS Training Coordinator to staff its Continuing Education Program.  This is a full time professional position.  The successful applicant will: Manage the development and delivery of MDS training across New York State.  Work with an advisory council; conduct needs assessments; recruit, hire and train instructors.  Organize training sessions across the state.  Market training.  Working with curriculum consultant, develop detailed curriculum, instructor’s manual, and participant materials for new MDS 3.0.  Evaluate training for continuous improvement.  Expectation that coordinator will stay current with interpretation and implementation of MDS 2.0 and 3.0.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by a US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.  Familiarity with MDS and nursing home industry.  Experience in staff development/training.  Excellent project management skills, communication skills.  Computer skills.  Preferred Qualifications: Staff development/training experience in healthcare/long-term care settings.  Track record in project management/training.  Master’s degree.  Experience in statewide programs.  Curriculum development skills.  Applicant must address in their application their ability to work with/teach/train a culturally diverse group of people.
