Brief description of duties:

The University at Albany, a NCAA Division I institution and member of the America East Conference (Northeast Conference, Football only), is searching for an enthusiastic and qualified individual to fill the role of Director of Ticket Operations and Customer Service.  Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs, the responsibilities include but are not limited to: overseeing all aspects of ticketing and box office procedures for home contests, away contests, special events conducted in athletic facilities as well as the promotion of athletic contests and special functions.  Candidate is responsible for the development and implementation of season, individual and group sales campaigns including the development of contacts and marketing the services for these campaigns.  Responsibilities also include the development and implementation of season long and game day promotional strategies for all revenue generated sports.  This position oversees and supervises the cheerleading/dance/spirit coach as well as part-time box office support personnel.

Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) is required from a college or university accredited by a US Dept. of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization. The successful candidate must have previous work experience within collegiate athletics (preferably at the Division I level) and previous work with ticketing and/or promotions.  Effective oral, written communication skills and strong organizational skills are essential.  Additional responsibilities include compliance with University, State of New York, NCAA, America East and Northeast Conference policies and procedures as they relate to all functions of ticket operations.  A demonstrated ability working with culturally diverse groups of people is required.  Anticipated start date is July 1, 2008.
