|
The Office of International Education intends to
appoint one or two Study Abroad Advisors with primary responsibility for Brief
Description of Duties: Study Abroad position is
a full-time 12-month position with full benefits. Duties include advising students on study
abroad opportunities in Japan, China and other countries in East Asia as well
as other parts of the world as needed, assisting in the development and
administration of study abroad programs with an emphasis on East Asia,
providing academic advisement to exchange students from East Asia and
elsewhere, preparation of publications and publicity materials, speaking at
student meetings and classes, participating in University at Albany functions
including occasionally assisting with Chinese or Japanese speaking visitors
to the University, serving as a translator in meetings with Chinese or
Japanese delegations, attending off-campus study abroad fairs, assisting in
the planning and organizing of study abroad orientation and re-entry
programs, reviewing study abroad applications, communicating with partner
universities, and managing correspondence with students and parents relative
to programs in East Asia. |

Qualifications: |
|||||
|
The
position(s) require(s) a Bachelor’s degree, with a Masters degree highly
preferred. Candidates with only a Bachelor’s degree will be expected to have
more experience and foreign language ability. Degree (s) must be from a
college or university accredited by a US Department of Education or
internationally recognized accrediting organization. Experience living in Supervising
Relationships: Reports to the Director
of Study Abroad & Exchanges |
