|
The Rockefeller College of
Public Affairs and Policy seeks a director to provide services to students
seeking internships and permanent employment.
The successful applicant will manage and develop internships, career
services and alumni relations. Internship Program: Cultivate and foster partnerships with
organizations employing undergraduate and graduate internships; coordinate
the internship placement processes, including site selection, and all
application, preparation and evaluation activities; manage and direct all
aspects of the New York State and federal professional internship application
processes; supervise a graduate student assistant working with undergraduates
on internship applications and resumes; edit job-related materials such as
cover letters and resumes; administer electronic data systems used to manage
data on internship opportunities and placements; and coordinate internship
courses related to required undergraduate and graduate internships. Career Services:
Develop career services for
graduate students and alumni including on campus recruitment sessions; build
external partnerships with potential employers; assist students with resume
preparation, interviewing skills, and job search strategies; track and manage
information regarding post-graduation career placements. Alumni Relations: Work with the dean and the
campus development office to cultivate alumni networks; build the College
alumni mentor program; coordinate the |

Qualifications: |

|
- Strong interpersonal and
oral and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
and build professional relationships with colleagues and constituents in a
diverse community. - Demonstrated knowledge
of internships and careers in public service. - Ability to coach
students in essential career preparation skills. - Excellent organizational
skills with the ability to plan and implement large projects. - Experience
with/willingness to learn electronic/online career services data systems
(e.g., Simplicity). - Three years related work
experience. -
Bachelor’s Degree from a college or university accredited by a US Department
of Education (DOE) or internationally recognized accrediting organization in
public affairs or related discipline; Master’s degree preferred. -
