Brief description of duties:

A newly created full-time position to lead the development and delivery of MDS training across New York State. Work with an advisory council: conduct needs assessments; recruit, hire and train instructors; organize training sessions across the state; market training; develop detailed curriculum, instructor’s manual, and participant materials for new MDS 3.0. Evaluate training for continuous improvement.  Expectation that coordinator will stay current with interpretation and implementation of MDS 2.0 and 3.0.

Qualifications:

Required:  A Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by a US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization, Experience in staff development/training and curriculum development. Excellent project management skills, communication skills.  Computer skills.  Applicant must address in their application their ability to work with/teach/train a culturally diverse group of people.

Preferred:  BSN or Master’s degree in adult education, curriculum development, or health education. Familiarity with MDS and nursing home industry.  Experience with staff development/training experience in healthcare/long-term care settings. Track record in project management/training. Experience in statewide programs.
